Creating an empty show
An empty show is a blank canvas — no scenes, no songs, no Mic Map yet. Use this when you're building a custom show from scratch: an original work, a revue, a school assembly, a concert, anywhere you don't have a pre-built show package.
How to create one
- Open the menu and tap Add Show.
- Tap Create New Show.
- Enter a name for the show.
- Confirm. ShowPlayer creates the empty show and opens it.
What's next
Once you have an empty show, you populate it:
- Add scenes for dialogue moments, mic state changes, and standalone sound effects. See Adding a new scene.
- Add songs by picking audio files. See Adding a new song.
- Build a Mic Map so cue events have role names to mute and unmute. See Creating a Mic Map.
Notes
- Naming. Use a name that makes the show easy to find later — the production name plus the venue or year is typical ("Cinderella Spring 2026", "Holiday Concert MacArthur HS"). Renaming later is fine but more friction once cues exist.
- From scratch is slower than a package. Building a show end-to-end takes time. If your production is on the Audiohost Show Server, load it with a show code instead — most of the work is already done.
