Creating a new show from a folder of audio files
If you have a folder of audio files for your production — backing tracks, named so they sort in playback order — ShowPlayer can build a complete show from that folder in one step. Each audio file becomes a song, in the order the files sort.
How to create one
- Open the menu and tap Add Show.
- Tap Create New Show and give the show a name.
- Choose a folder of audio files.
- ShowPlayer scans the folder and confirms the file count.
- Confirm. ShowPlayer copies the files into the show, analyzes each one, and adds them as songs in playlist order.
Notes
- Where the folder can live. ShowPlayer can pick a folder from anywhere the device's file browser can reach — on-device storage, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or any other location that appears in the Files app on iOS/iPadOS or in the file dialogs on Mac.
- File order matters. ShowPlayer adds songs in the order the audio files sort alphabetically. Name your files with leading numbers ("01 Overture.m4a", "02 Opening Number.m4a") so the playlist comes out in show order.
- Files are copied. The audio is copied into the show — moving or renaming the original folder later doesn't affect the show.
- You can still add scenes. A folder import gives you songs only. Add scenes between songs for dialogue mic states and standalone effects. See Adding a new scene.
